Hey,

I was planing to play the whole collection of Assassin's Creeds so I bought all of them. While the 1st one worked no problem the 2nd, 2nd brotherhood, 2nd revelation and the 3rd just won't launch. I have a i7 and a GTX780 so the rig is not a problem, Uplay might be. When I launch I get a black screen the Ubisoft logo shows for a second and the back to desktop, it's the case for all of them! Do you guys have any idea what might be the issue? I thought about uninstalling Uplay and reinstalling it but since I downloaded the games I don't have the time or the bandwidth to go through the process again. If I uninstall Uplay, is there a way to keep the games I downloaded on my PC (like on Steam)? I don't mind reinstalling but I cannot download again.

Thanks for your help!

I have this exact same problem, also running on an i7 and GTX780. None of these games work, though Assassin's Creed IV does work (lucky for Ubisoft, considering they and Nvidia offered the game in a holiday bundle with purchase of my GPU). My older PC, which has the same software but different hardware, can run the games just fine. I have been attempting to solve this problem off...
have you tried restarting your computer since you installed them?
Cause I bet you're "missing" some file they need to launch.
But what file I have no clue unless they tell you what's missing.

At the end of their installations did they have any optional check boxes for other things they wanted to install? like direct-x or microsoft c++ redistribution?

I have this exact same problem, also running on an i7 and GTX780. None of these games work, though Assassin's Creed IV does work (lucky for Ubisoft, considering they and Nvidia offered the game in a holiday bundle with purchase of my GPU). My older PC, which has the same software but different hardware, can run the games just fine. I have been attempting to solve this problem off and on since I built my current PC this past December. I have restarted many times since then for various other reasons, so that doesn't solve it. Steam has a feature that will scan your install for missing/damaged/corrupt files and replace them with fresh ones. That doesn't work. With regards to DirectX, C++ redistributions, etc, Steam always installs them for you upon first running any given game. I'm not sure if the OP is using Steam for these games, but I would hazard a guess that he has these items installed.

Nearly every forum I've checked regarding this problem (usually with one specific Assassin's Creed game as the topic) points to Uplay as the culprit. Users have tried deleting save directories, moving save directories, moving Uplay directories (in instances where Steam, AC, and Uplay aren't necessarily installed on the same drive). These solutions have worked for some people, but don't for most others. I have tried all of them, and have also tried redownloading and reinstalling.

A bit of additional info: Each game crashes within seconds of starting, saying that the game EXE has stopped working. They all produce error entries in Event Viewer that look like this, with the game EXE listed as the faulting module.

AC Brotherhood
Faulting application name: ACBSP.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4d90ac83
Faulting module name: ACBSP.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4d90ac83
Exception code: 0xc0000094

AC Revelations
Faulting application name: ACRSP.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f3bd0f2
Faulting module name: ACRSP.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f3bd0f2
Exception code: 0xc0000094

Unfortunately, most who have bothered to check Event Viewer have found different DLLs listed as the faulting module; some related to their graphics cards. In some of these instances, updating or rolling back their GPU drivers solved their problem. Some have also solved their problem by adjusting the GPU voltage. I tried and have not been so lucky. Those who have tried asking Ubisoft support for help have had mixed results.

Hey,

Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, I am still stuck with the same problem, after weeks of tweaking and frustration, I just bought Battlefield 4 and I've been playing that since... However, I am not planing to give up since I have the games paid for and sitting around. I already tried all the solutions you mentioned, we've probably been on the same forums. If you find something new please let me know, we have exactly the same issue and the same rig. If on my side I find a solution I'll share as well.

Thank you

From what you're describing, I'm not sure if this will help. I was getting a black screen during gameplay and this is what I did. And you need UPlay in order to run the game. Even if you're using Steam.

Basically, I just rolled the driver back. It's not just that simple, though. I had to uninstall ALL drivers through Windows Control Panel. Rollback to a known working driver and after restart all was well. Not sure if you got your games on Steam, but you could also try some of these solutions. Hope this helps. Sorry if it's useless to you, but I know Valve and Ubisoft were of no help to me.
