I have a processor---think it's a core 2 duo that was damaged and replaced. Anyway I want to crack open the case to see inside of it, but can't figure out how. I've tried prying the back off with a knife but it won't budge. Does anyone know how Intel affixes the metal part onto the green circuit board, or any good ideas on how to remove it.

Its soldered to the die i believe, taking the top off would rip the CPU off. also, there is no way you could see the damage done to the CPu, it is absolutely tiny
