GPU going bad?

Hi,
I have bought a new graphic card last September. Along with it, I also bought a new PSU, because the last one was too old and weak.
Everything was fine and running until about a month ago.
My computer has been running all day (approx. 12 hours) when suddenly it shut down for no obvious reason. The fans slowed down a lot and it wanted to start again, but crashed again. This repeated, so I turned it off and examined it. nothing seemed wrong on the inside, the hottest component was the PSU, so I thought maybe it overheated and let it be for the day.
The next day, everything was fine again and it ran smoothly as ever.
Next shutdown happened about a week from that, but it hasn't been running for more than six hours. I opened up the case to see if all the fans are spinning properly when I start it again. They did. The PSU temperature was normal. Still, I was convinced it was a PSU problem.
The random shutdowns happened more frequently and I was prepared to RMA the PSU.
But yesterday, I was not able to start the computer at all. I mean, all the fans ran, HDD as well, but nothing showed on the monitor.
I consulted this with my friend, who suggested it might be a GPU problem and advised me to try disconnecting the GPU. I did that and everything ran well again.
Today, I reconnected the GPU and started the computer. When it loaded, I ran furmark on my native resolution (1680x1050), 4x MSAA and fullscreen. The temperature rose to 75°C in five minutes, core usage fluctuated between 95% and 100% I did not notice any artifacts. There only was a slight lag, but I read it was normal. However, the computer crashed the same way as always after 15 minutes of furmark.
So my questions are: It it highly probable that this is a GPU problem? Should I try something before trying to RMA the card? Or do you think this might be something entirely different?

Here are my specs:
PSU: Corsair VS550
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2.80GHz
RAM: 4069MB
mobo: ASUS P5KPL-AM SE
GPU: MSI NVidia GeForce GTX650 Ti BOOST (MSI N650Ti-2GD5/OC BE)
OS: Win 7 64bit
BIOS: BIOS Date: 05/27/09 10:10:29 Ver: 08.00.12
DirectX 11

Sorry for my English, I am from the Czech Republic.
Thanks in advance,
Daniel

Unfortunately, my only friend willing to do that has a 300W PSU.
