Hi, I was under the impression that PCI Express GPUs were backwards compatible with any PCI Express slot. I've been getting conflicting information with regards to this issue... so Most people on the forums say that they are backwards compatible, yet others (including card manufacturers I've contacted) say there's problems with 1.0 boards accepting newer cards...
I have an Intel DQ965GF motherboard (can't afford an upgrade right now) with PCI Express 1.0 slots (compatible with revision 1.0a). I need a decent low-power GPU under $50-60. I found an HD 5670 on ebay that I think is a 1.0?

I was initially looking at an HD 6670, 7750 or a GT 640, but those are all PCI Express 2.0/3.0... idk if they'd work. I would appreciate any help on the subject. Thanks.
Evan
