2gb ram ddr2
Radeon 7700s low profile
80gb hardrive only 5 GB left(can I get an external one)

More about thinking upgrading mother board
  1. If your old PC is not a custom build and is an OEM (HP, Dell etc. if you change the mobo , you are also going to need a new operating system, as OEM OS's are 'attached' to the mobo.
  2. Pretty much your going to want to upgrade everything. LOL Hard drives are cheap 1TB you can get for under $100...

For the price you're going to pay tearing it apart, you might consider starting fresh. You could reuse your optical drive, case, and HDD.
