So soon I shall be putting in my GTX 780 as soon as it arrives. I have heard you need to plug the monitor directly into the GPU, is this true? Or is plugging an HDMI into the HDMI port in the Motherboard back panel ok? I have a VGA, DVI as well as HDMI cable although I am pretty sure all I will need HDMI, can anyone give any elaboration to this by telling me whether I plug the HDMI into the GTX or will plugging it into the Motherboard ok? (I ask because someone said that after installing there GTX 780, and using a VGA from the back panel on he Motherboard only used the Intel(r) 4600)

Solution
The plug in on the mobo is for any discrete graphics and will by pass your card. If you have a discrete card only use the plug ins on the card for monitors.

plug the hdmi cable in the gtx 780 and be sure to connect the pci-e connectors to the gpu when you mount it after that go on nvidia site and download the latest drivers for your gpu and instal them.

Make sure your PSU is up to the task of powering this card. And yes, once you install a discrete graphics card, you will plug whichever monitor cable you use into the card. The exception would be if you are planning to use VirtuMVP (if your board supports that; see the Virtu documentation for instructions; most people don't use it).

You plug the monitor into the graphics card directly.
Use the DVI connection on the graphics card unless the monitor has speakers which you want to use, in which case use the HDMI connection because DVI will not send audio signals and the speakers will not work.
