Hi. I finally got my computer to post, but when i put the memory sticks in, it stops beeping. are my memory sticks dead??

Solution
Different motherboards have different beeping codes. When there is no memory, it beeps indicating a problem. When you install memory it stops beeping. It may be that your motherboard simply does not beep when everything is OK. See if you can boot or install OS. If you can, then most likely everything is fine and your motherboard simply runs this way.

Another thing that you can do is to try and run MemTest.

If you have problems doing above things, than it is indication of real problems.

Does any of them work in any other slot?

I understand that one memory stick may be broken, but two or more at the same time seems unlikely (though still possible).

May be incompatibility or motherboard problem.

So, is absence of beeping the only problem? If motherboard does not have speaker attached (your case may contain one; mine doesn't, so no beeps for me), then there will be no beeps. It is not necessary to have it although speaker may be helpful for troubleshooting.
