I'd like to first say that there are a lot of people in my house that have multiple devices hooked up. we currently have my PC, 2 laptops, and Xbox One, 2 xbox 360's, 5 Phones, and 2 tablets running.

The connection on my computer is usually fair but its not as good as it should be. when we have any of the Xbox's running the NAT is always Strict. My two brother's laptops are also a lot slower then mine (they are at the other end of the house, we can easily use an extender)

I know little to nothing about wireless networking and want to have a good connection. we currently have a linksys EA6300 router (and from what im told it can't really handle multiple xbox's) and a very old Arris TM602G modem. our service provider is comcast.

I know both the router and modem aren't all that great so what would be a good router and modem that can handle a ton of people on it at almost all hours of the day?

~thanks for reading/recommending

P.S. I asked a guy at comcast how much it would be to upgrade the modem and he said it would be $50. can't i buy a new modem and install it myself?

Wired connection will be faster than wireless. If you have a low speed package with your isp, those xboxes are going to take up a lot of bandwidth.

That doesn't really help. I know of a few routers that can run multiple xbox's but i don't know if i would need a new modem or not.

what do you mean? my download speed is pretty slow, its like 258KB/S. The Xbox's are always strict nat. IDK what im paying for lol.

Call comcast and see what you're paying for first. You could have a cheap low speed plan. A new router and modem won't fix that.
