So i'm getting a tax return soon (hooray!) and I decided I want to upgrade my pc. I have a mid sized ThermalTake case, here are my specs
12 GB DDR3 RAM
AMD FX-4100 processor
AMD HD 7750 gpu
Gigabyte - GA-97OA-DS3 motherboard
500 Watt ATX PSU

I'm thinking about getting a Nvidia EVGA 770 from Newegg - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130921

Plus a 850 watt SeaSonic PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151102

I just kinda wanna know if this is worth my dollar and all because I'm also going to be getting 3 2-terrabyte hdd's and a 100gb ssd. And I'm going to set up a raid with the hdds.

Thanks for your opinions on my build :3

Bulldozer is the code name of the CPU. Bulldozer, steamroller, are just names used to describe the family of chips that have model names. By saying bulldozer (BD) the reader can know what the general specs are as they have similar features with different clock speeds.

You only need a 750W+ PSU if you will be running two GPUs. I'm running my 3570K and 7950 off a gold rated 450W. Don't buy such a large PSU and run only one GPU as it will be rather inefficient. Assuming your PSU is a good one, get the bigger GPU and drives. I'd avoid raid as its fairly useless for home users now that we have SSDs.

I have thought about upgrading the cpu but I haven't looked into any AMD FX processors. I'm not sure what would be a good upgrade for under maybe $150.

I want to play games like Battlefield 4 on higher settings, Entropia Universe on highest, Planetside 2, I play a lot of games.

Okay, I think I want to go with this one, I like how the connectors are customizable and all. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139042

I'm wanting to play Battle Field 4, Planetside 2, Borderlands 2, and a bunch of games I own on highest settings. I haven't really been interested in the 760 since I looked into the 770, and for only nearly the $100 more, it seems like a suitable difference for the price so I think I would prefer the 770 for now.

I'll look into getting that processor, it does seem nice. Really, I feel "scared?" I guess, because people call the FX processors 'bulldozers' and I'm not sure what that means.

Well to be honest I don't know either but that is a very good and capable processor which will provide you with a tone of performance improvements. Get the 770 then, buy a strong CPU and a solid power supply and enjoy!!
