Bizarre. About a month ago, my 2-year old home-built PC just started going into a hard lock-up after 55 minutes. It happens even of the machine is idling. I took it to a tech shop, who told me after a week of running tests, that they suspected the MSI motherboard is to blame. Right now, I can turn the machine on, run it for 55 minutes, shut it down, and immediately start it back up without it locking up. If I go 57 minutes, it locks up for about 2 minutes and then attempts unsuccessfully to reboot. I have to then turn it off and can immediately restart. Then it is good for another 55 minutes. For a while I was getting BSODs, but that stopped after being in the tech shop. It does not appear to be overheating at all. Any ideas what could be causing this weirdness?
