PC is expected to perform Photoshop and video work.
Some opined regarding i3, no much difference between 3rd and 4th generation
So, socket 1155 or 1150 to prefer??

Solution
I recommend the ASUS line, I personally don't care about MSI but thats just me. I have an ASUS Maximus VI Hero mobo and love it. There is also other mobos from ASUS that aren't from the ROG line, such as the Pro, Extreme (pretty sure it has Thunderbolt 2 on it), Gryphon, and others.

Link to the Hero: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131989 - also happens to be one of the more popular mobos from Asus right now, and the LGA 1150 line overall.

The main difference between the 3rd gen and 4th gen desktop Intel CPUs is the integrated graphics (iGPU). The Intel HD 4600 is over 30% more powerful than the older Intel HD 4000. CPU processing power increased by 6% on average and the overall system power consumption should decrease slightly.

Haswell CPUs have a higher TDP than Ivy Bridge CPUs (meaning higher power consumption) because it integrates a voltage regulator module that used to be part of the motherboard. It is a step to reduce the overall cost of a PC for system builders like HP and Dell.
