no, the refresh rate of the monitor does not put strain on the card, just the resolution. Those benchmarks are assuming your screens are 1920x1080.

It's not worth it to get 3x144Hz monitors with 2x770. As woltej1 linked...that setup will produce 47, 54, and 44fps average in games. So, 60Hz is more than enough. If you added a third 770, I think the fps average would improve to 67, 74, 64fps. It won't improve by more than 47/2=24fps. So I figure it'll improve by maybe 20fps, maybe.

I recommend 3x60Hz monitors instead.

Of course you don't have to use Ultra settings. You can turn down settings a bit and get big gains.

Not correct.
A 2nd graphics card scales by 75% when connected in SLI, a third one 10% and a fourth one 5%.
There is absolutely no sense in buying more graphics cards unless you're the uber geek with money to burn and likes his highly watercooled rig to appear fuller and heavier.

I have 1 144hz asus monitor upgradable g sync, so if I get 2 more asus 144hz monitor with gsync upgrade I would run very smooth on surround gaming right? even with 40 fps?

Why buy 2 more 144Hz monitors if you can't get more than 40fps? 3x60Hz monitors will perform exactly the same as 3x144Hz monitors with 2x770. Can you sell off the monitor and get 3 60Hz monitors?

A couple notes:
1) Yes G-sync would make things run smoother at 40 FPS.
2) You do not have to play at max, ultra settings. You can increase your FPS by reducing a few settings here and there.
3) Last I knew, G-sync does not support 3 monitors, but at CES, they did show a demo of a 4k monitor that was 2 monitors in 1, and G-sync worked, so there is a solution coming, or recently added.

Indeed. I'll also suggest you keep your monitor for now, then get a 4K Gsync monitor when one comes.

Thank you all for the suggestion, but I play counterstrike, therefore I cannot get a big 4k monitor because I need that 144hz to keep up with the competitiveness of the game. I am very interested in surround gaming at 1080p which is the ideal for me right now. I heard G-sync can help the lower fps run smooth with no stutter and I need you guys to verify that, but a news from a person that brought up, suggested it does not support multi-monitor. D: I believe its best for me to wait for an update that would support multi monitor on Gsync. ):

40 fps with gsync would look better but with out motion blur like consoles it would look laggy as hell
