You will be able to play most new games but not at high settings. I would look at upgrading your GPU down the road so you can get the most out of the games you play!
FX-8320 is a great CPU and for the price it's an excellent choice for multiple different uses. Just ensure your board supports it before ordering up the processor and if you plan on overclocking it in the future or have not the greatest airflow in your case I would also recommended ordering up a nice aftermarket cooler. The Hyper 212 Evo is a market favorite and runs pretty cheap!
You're going to have to provide the rest of your specs (RAM, Video card). I'm assuming you have the 8 core 3.5? Thats quite a powerful processor, considering most games won't fully utilize 6 cores, let alone 8.
