I'm just wondering if this pair up can handle 1440p in games like crysis 3, metro last light, BF4, tomb raider, civilization V, ... .

Also is 600w enough for a psu if I OC the cpu to 4.4/4.5?

Most likely not, you will want more than 2GB VRAM for greater than 1080P gaming, and the 770 only gets like 37 FPS average on Crysis 3 Max + 4x MSAA on 1080P with an i7 4770K, you would want an R9 280X or higher AMD card, or GTX 780 or 780 Ti (or 690).

well the build is around 1000 bucks so a 780 is a bit too ambitious. how about a 4 gig version of the 770?

Eh, its better than a 770 2GB, but not by very much due to the 256-bit memory bus. If a higher level card is out of budget, I would either get a 4GB 770, or the R9 280X, I believe they are of similar pricing. The 280X is a touch slower than the 770 but can really use the 3GB of memory it has a lot more effectively than the 770 can with the 4GB because the 280X has a 384 bit memory bus, and the 770 has that 256 bit bus.

I see. But what about the cpu? Is it appropriate for either the 770 or the 280x?

It's fine, it will provide only a small real-world bottleneck, heck my FX-6350 works fine with my GTX 770, albeit at a resolution of 1920x1080P, but res doesn't make a huge difference on the CPU side of things. Just OC it to maybe 4.4GHz or higher and you will have such a small hindrance you won't notice. Even if you don't OC you will still get good performance.

This is something I dont quite understand.
Why would he bump it up, it will in no freaking way increase any sort of performance.
He would have a hard time SLI/crossfire with that too.

I would recommend getting a 550-600w with full modular. Now that would be nice and handy.
