Hi All,
I have recently had issues with my HP Pavilion dv7 - 4131SA Laptop. It did a HP Update and then it restarted it became permanantly stuck on "Startup Repair". I have therefore removed the hard drive and purchased a 2.5" SATA Hard Drive Enclosure.
I have a tiny notebook machine which is slow and pretty useless but I'll need to use this to try and transfer a few important documents from my old laptop hard drive to my Lacie external hard drive.
When I plugged my enclosure in, the notebook recognised the hard drive but I cannot view anything inside it, it asks me to format the disk. I trawled forums and found that some people have had success using data recovery software. I installed EaseUS Data Recovery but after searching the hard drive all night, the files it has found are all useless temporary internet jpg's etc. I cannot see any sign of my Documents Folders.
Ive looked at one of the sticky threads, would Piriform's Recuva work for this? Can anyone suggest what I need to do, I just need to find about three documents on that hard drive then I'll be ready to stick it in my old laptop and do a Factory Reset.
