Hey guys. I have just 1 problem. I recently opened my computer and found all of the data, google chrome, everything was missing. Except for the programs that were installed on both users. I rebooted the computer and everything reappeared back. Any reason for this? Thanks.

What is your OS (mine is Win7Ux64)? What malware protection applications (mine are MalwareBytes, ZoneAlarm, and Webroot suites) do you have deployed? Your post caught my eye because I experienced a very similar problem: My uptime was a tad over sixteen hours, and I tried to launch an image editor I have installed on a flash drive; the application had vanished from the context menu, and I found the flash drive contents had APPARENTLY been accidentally deleted...

When you say everything was missing, was it just Icons on the desktop??? or was the data from C:\Program Files gone as well

If it was just the desktop icons it can sometimes simply be an issue with displaying them, either disk or video controller is busy. Does the PC stick or stutter when you try to do things?

Furious, I tried something else, refusing to go through system restore for what might be a temporary glitch: I unplugged all flash drives and left them disconnected for a few minutes. When I reconnected the drive that the image editor was installed on, its contents had reappeared, and the related context menu item had recovered as well. I wouldn't worry overmuch if your problem doesn't reoccur AND other [even seemingly unrelated] issues don't crop up; it sounds like the memory addresses in RAM might have been temporarily wiped/overwritten. If it happens again, I suggest using a global mask (*.*) to search your indexed data storage locations and report the results.

Ok, I read a few topics and it might be a profile loading problem, as when I rebooted it took a while to load into the same profile, so I guess that's all. Thx for the feedback anyway! :)
