As title says, I bought the XFX Double D R9 270x Videocard and the driver isntallation keeps failing, I tried using the CD and downloading drivers and it fails. Even tried using either both DVI ports and the HDMI port just in case and it's same problem.

Launching Setup.exe as administrator and having Windows 7 selected in compatibility mode doesnt change anything.

Opening the LOG after installign the drivers shows that AMD Display Driver and HDMI AUDIO DRIVER are failing.

My Rig:
Intel i7 2600
16gb ram (4x4 Vengeance)
Coolermaster Extreme 600w
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Asus P8Z68-V LE

I really need this card working soon and im out of ideas to solve this.
Would be glad to hear possible solutions for this!
thank you for your attention!

Then where it shows the graphic drivers, update it and browse the downloaded driver file and select it and see if it updates it.

I wish I could try that, windows doesn't detect the videocard either, going to device manager only shows "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" whcih is a Intel HD3000 or something like that.

If you have connected using the R9 270x then update that 'Standard VGA Graphics card' and browse the download driver file and then select it and then see if it updates it.

I'm having the same problem I had to manually install the driver in Device Manager, but the Windows experience index still will not detect the video card or rate its performance. Also can't access any overclocking features. Some games work but others won't. Help!!!

I literally had the same problem with an MSI R9 270X after about 1 week of using it. I don't really have a solution for your issue, but I feel your pain. I spent about 3 days with little sleep trying EVERYTHING I could think of. The card is probably just dead. I just sent mine back to Newegg. If my replacement does the same thing, it's most definitely the card.
