No budget questions thanks, just your personal opinion. I like the 770, sweet card, but that's all it is. (a sweet card, value for money)

690 is a good card, just as the titan but they're to vastly overshadowed making them redundant, depending on the value if nvidea dropped the 690 price wise for, then yes they're a really good cards.

@OP - this thread should be named "Nvidia Fanboys assemble!!!" :)

I currently have a R9 280x Matrix, but I would really like to test the performance in a 780 TI, as well as in an R9 290x non-ref.

Sorry, no allegiance here... It`s just performance that I`m interested in.

I personally like the 7990, its like little nicky, the movie except its satan. ( very power hungry card, it did have driver issues but wasn't to bad, sold it to bitming community when i realised it's value)

Iv'e tried a titan, and its like buying expensive toilet paper gold encrusted while iv'e never tried gold toilet paper before however there are similarities. 780ti great card performance wise, more vram would be my reason for buying one.

What will you do if they release a 6gig variant 780ti.

nothing :S
how much does that matter for a single monitor user? :D

That's my point; a 780ti designed for 3 monitor setup and greater things. a 770 designed for 3 monitors and great things. same goes for the x280 and x290.

But you have a 27inch ips monitor right? that supports higher resolution. (but then again, i never really asked what gpu you have) :wahoo:

When they do release a 780 ti 6gig version people will still play that on one monitor, when it's little brother will suffice just efficiently as it's father. (common sense saves us from the evils that lurk within)

you r correct my brother
people like just upgrading things whether its required or not :D
I used my dual core for 6 years ;) without ny issue playing lots of game 8)
upgraded recently as demand of cores increased by apps :p

Sweet :) my old 7990-opencl annihilated my previous 3770k, and will with my current 4930k.

From what lessons iv'e learnt from that:

Don't buy expensive cpu's when little brother will just out perform it on calculations.

my cpu in the Lite coin mining community is a joke: https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison

The hash rate (KH'S) is the computational calculations that are made that results in roi, return on interest (or money), and you'll see the xeon cpu doesn't even try, but gives up. the nvidea gpu struggles.

But overall the radeon 7970 just storms in because it's way beyond faster then any cpu on the market.

The k hash, the time it takes to crack a block of keys. the cpu would take for ever and cost you power.
My 4930k struggles on decoding mp4 to avi video out puts. while with what purpose a fast dedicated cpu means?.... beats me.

I guess the lesson here is, having a beefy cpu means nothing when there will be other things faster then it.

The phecoprocessor: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-SC3120A-Xeon-Phi-Coprocessor-3120P-1-1GHZ-6GB-GDDR5-57-Core-Qual-Sample-/161160850362?_trksid=p2054897.l4275

It has 57 cores and runs entirely of your board, so another point that having a expensive cpu's pointless while mine has only 6 cores at a price of 500$.

But im talking about gaming lol

You arent really comparing Apples to apples though. Firstly, just because AMD cards are better at the calcs for mining bit coins, doesnt mean they are better at everything. Same for the Xeon Phi - it mostly supports x86, but it doesnt do everything a regular xeon does, hence it being a Co-processor.

I wasn't comparing apples to apples, but placing a nice juicy food chain between them, the phi co processor isn't dedicated, and requires little requirements as a xeon 2000 series.

No, reference in regards to the lite coin mining (bitcoin miners are not cpu, nor gpu enabled. asic miners are designed to hash keys, and are hard wired ) however litecoin mining will become bitcoin mining when greedy people decide otherwise. altcoin mining is cpu varified but will yeld a hash thats worth nothing, but whose to say apples tastier than a banana.

Co processors can do tasks normal cpu cannot do. for example, if a consumer pc has no ecc enabled it doesn't matter, it can perform simple tasks while a phi processor focuses on more complex calculations, physics is a intensive task, but the true powers combining them.

Like those stories regarding researches harnessing playstations by the dozen for cpu intensive tasks. lol. reminds me of something.

Cloud computing will really enable these cards. 1 xeon rack with 4 modified versions of these cpu's. whose to say, maybe hp builds them.
