Hi
I have the following issue:
When ever i swap from windows to a game i get vertical colored lines on my screen that disappear after a few seconds.
Also this problem occurs when ever i change the resolution in display options or i turn off and on the screen.
My specs are:
Monitor Samsung s23a750d 23 inch
Asrock z68 extreme3 gen3 - with latest bios updates ( problem occurred before update )
Intel i5 2500k clocked at 4600 Mhz ( with decent cooling, temps in games don't pass 60 degrees Celsius)
A-Data Extreme gaming DDR3 2000 mhz 2x4 gb dual channel kit (using bios default profile for them @ 1833 mhz)
Gigabyte GtX 760 OC stoc speeds ( problem occurred on last video card gigabyte GTX 560)
Corsair 500R case
Corsair 650 W power supply
1 Sata 3 500gb HDD
1 SSD 60 gb by Intel
1 SSD 180 gb by intel
Also have connected a 2nd older monitor to the video card that does not have these kind of issues
I have tried connecting the monitor on both ports available and same results( 60 Hz, 100 and 120 hz)
If anyone has/had a similar issue please let me know, what i have researched on google did not help me at all.
I can provide pictures if needed
Thank You.

I know this may sound "hokey" but sometimes having your cell or speakers that aren't magnetically shielded can affect less expensive monitors which are not shielded well themselves:
http://www.ask.com/question/what-causes-vertical-lines-on-a-monitor

"Vertical lines on a monitor are a sign of external interference as well as magnetic charges and damage to the cathode ray tube mechanism of the screen. Avoid placing phones or other magnetically based items near the monitor as well as keeping the monitor away from water and sunlight."

So it may just be that. Try removing your speakers or anything magnetically charged like a cell phone etc from it and see if the symptom still persists.

If that doesn't work turn off your system, disconnect the monitor, wait 15-20seconds, restart your computer and observe the following:
" If the no signal message also has vertical lines, you know the problem is in the monitor and not in your computer. Press the “Menu” button on the screen and then use the other buttons to browse for a “Factory Settings” mode. Select this mode to reset the monitor to its original settings. If the lines persist, the monitor may have been dropped or exposed to a magnet -- which can’t be fixed.
Look for the lines at boot up: if you see lines before Windows loads, the problem is either with the video card, the video connection cable -- whether HDMI or VGA -- or the monitor itself. If the lines only appear in Windows, the problem is a Windows setting -- most likely the refresh rate. Right-click on the Desktop once Windows loads and choose “Screen Resolution.” Click “Advanced Settings,” “Monitor,” and then lower the refresh rate to see if the lines disappear.
"

Hope this helps! Please let us know what worked or if you have more questions!

Thanks,

Cheers for the fast reply
I tried that and yes monitor still shows those lines even detached from video card with computer shut down
Also the base of the monitor where the controls are is VERY hot ! i'd say over 30 degrees celsius
Magnetic wise: i have a satellite from logitech Z5500 right above it at about 30 cm and trowing the satellite and cell phone on the bed didn't fix it.
Also monitor is installed with the drivers from the original DVD and i have reset it to factory settings.
Still same issue: 2-5 seconds of lines when on/off or change resolution and refresh rate.

I have under 1 year left of warranty on it and didn't want to send it in before making sure it's faulty.
Still waiting a reply from the buyer but the guys from warranty department were not so eager to respond :p
