I decide to build a new PC rig
Here is my desirable specs :
i7 4770
gtx 780
8 gb 1600mhz ram

as long as i dont want to overclock the cpu and ram as well as crossfire or SLI
so i choose the ASUS H87 board
but i want to ask is bigger board better for gaming ?
i was struggling whether to buy H87M-E or H87 Plus.
note that i dont need any crossfire
thanks

what matters is how many additional cards you add in and the size of case you are buying, if you plan to add more cards, e.g. wirleless, capture cards, sound cards. Go for an ATX or a MATX motherboard if you plan to use additonal cards, if you are just using a graphics card, go for an MITX motherboard. your case matters as well, as you cant use an ATX motherboard with a case that only accept MATX or MITX motherboards

so can the uATX H87M-E be added the wifi card and sound card ? i also think that the ATX board is mainly for using mutiple GPUs

the space around the pci ex 16 slots is the problem on matx boards. any 2.5 wide slot graphics card leaves you with just one usable slot in addition to it. and even a 2 slot card will have it's airflow troubled by a expansion card in the slot right next to it. a atx board fixes this by giving you plenty of space around it.

atx boards also tend to have more stuff on them, more sata connectors, usb headers etc
