Hi all. Im building a desktop pc to replace my laptop with which i am unhappy with the fps i get from games. I dont know enough about the components to make an informed decision as to whether they are good enough or a little overkill. This is what ive got.

CPU: Intel Core i7 Quad Core Processor i7-4770
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS H87M-E:Micro-ATX, LG1150, USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs
MEMORY: 16GB KINGSTON DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz
GRAPHICS CARD: 2GB AMD RADEON R9 270X - DVI
HARD DRIVE: 1TB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD1003FZEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64mb CACHE

Im wanting a dual monitor setup that can run games like minecraft, runescape HD on highest settings and also Skyrim smoothly. Advice on cheaper conponents which can do all this is much appreciated.

Thanks

You don't need a i7 to run those games. A i5 will easily do the same. Also, you don't need 16GB RAM, 2x4GB is plenty. That should save you a lot of money and allow you to get a 770 instead of a 270x. Skyrim likes Nvidia.

btw, 2 monitors is weird to game on cuz your middle view is stuck between the borders of the two.

What country you buying in?

I agree. For gaming, i5 and 4-8GB of RAM max. * NOTE: Only go with 8GB if you plan to use a 64bit OS.

Put the money you save into a better GPU and maybe a single large monitor or midrange 3 monitor setup.

If you're not set on Intel, you can also consider an AMD FX 6300 setup (* Tom's recommended for budget gaming), save a bit more cost, and still have very good performance on those games and most modern titles.
