We are getting a shipment of new servers and have been looking for a lifting solution, but have not been able to able to find anything that will work in our environment.

Since we are in a warehouse witch is cramped on space we have our aisles really close together witch means the industry standard cart wont fit down the aisles anymore.

let me know if anyone has any suggestions.

Thank You

Without knowing how much space you have in your aisles, it is difficult to make any informed suggestions. You may have to simply resort to un-boxing the servers and carrying them piecemeal from the loading area to where you plan to install them.

Do you even know if the shipping containers/boxes will fit down the aisles?

Our aisles are down to 30 inchs now and while reviewing solutions I can not find anything that can corner at that low of a width.

Thank You

In your case, you may simply be down to humans carrying stuff.

Be careful to make makes things so restrictive that you create a fire/emergency exit issue.

Hmm we haven't addressed the fire exit concern yet.

I am still just trying to figure out if there is a solution to this cause some of our older server are weighing almost a couple hundred pounds I dont want to resort to hand carrying them.

But thanks for you input ill keep looking.

Do you have any experience with http://www.serverlift.com/solutions/products/

Cause on a couple of there products it claims they can handle as small as a 24 inch aisles?

If anyone knows anything about this the feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have the previous version of serverlift in two datacenters. They are expensive, but I was able to get management to fund them when I discussed the costs of injuries. They work best at 10U and above -- the newer design goes lower than that, but they still don't work in the bottom couple U. They can handle a fully loaded Cisco 6500 or 60 drive RAID tray. The platform fits between 19 inch rails and slides into the rack for situations where "L" brackets (like 6500s) are the mounting hardware to support the load as long as possible. They are probably overkill for 1U and 2U pizza box servers, but if you have large equipment or very high mounting of anything, they are worth their weight.

Thanks. Well! this ebay link is a surprise for me. I didn't had the idea that ebay could deal with something like this as well.

I wanted to thank everyone on the help picking a solution it looks as if the server lift is going to be the best fit and I will keep everyone posted on weather or not it works as expected. I called there support and they seem excited to get it shipped so I will most likely have one come next week.
