Hello everyone,

I have searched and searched of forums on this. The only thing that I found was kicking a user for inactivity with the remote desktop and require user password after the screensaver has kicked in. That's not what I am looking for.

I have about hand full of users that don't log off there computers at the end of the day. So it's a pain in my rear because if I did something on the back end. It won't take affect because they didn't log off. And doesn't matter how many times i tell them to log off. They just won't log off. So what I would like to do is after a certain amount of time let's say 40 minutes. I want the computer to actually log off. Where it shutdown the programs and etc. But computer stays on. So that when they log in next, they have to re-open the programs, outlook, word and etc.

I am running Server 2012 i have it setup as a domain, the client machines are desktops with Windows 7 professional, 1 tablet that is windows 8, and 1 laptop that is windows 8.1 pro desktop version.

More about : user logoff inactivity

you could create a security group, put these trouble users into that group and force http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc781861(v=WS.10).aspx specific times they can log on and log off and it has an option to force log off when they exceed the allowed time.

I think I might try that. Plus I don't think anyone is going to be at the office in the middle of the night.
