I have an am2+ AMD phenom II X4 processor and I'm about to buy a new motherboard.
Look at this motherboard, for example:
http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/K10N78/
it states:
- Support for Socket AM2+ / AM2 processors: AMD Phenom™ FX / Phenom / Athlon 64 FX / Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core / Athlon X2 Dual-Core / Athlon 64 / Sempron processor
My cpu, while having an am2+ socket, doesn't belong to any of the categories listed (I can see Phenom, Athlon 64 fx, Sempron ecc but not AMD Phenom II).
Is my cpu supported anyway, just because it is am2+? Or do I have to search for a motherboard that specifically supports AMD Phenom II series?
