Hello Forum,

As a casual gamer who plays only 2/3h every day i was thinking if it worth for me upgrade my cpu and go for intel 4930k. Actually i have a Intel Q9550 ( i have it since 2008 ). And since im expecting most of the games that will be launched this year i was thinking about the 4930k. But it worth it the money? I mean, i was able to play all the games i wanted from 2008 until now, the only thing i changed until now was my psu , gpu ( evga 780gtx ) and two ssd drives. ( one only for the SO and other only for games ).

Also, the main reason of selecting 4930k is because i plan to wait another 6/7 years to upgrade it again.

Thanks in advance.

I do something like of the same thing wait several between upgrades.

The -E CPU's from Intel are not really for casual gaming they are more for quad sli/crossfireX type rigs and heavy CAD/Video editing etc.

I agree with Tradesman though the 4770 would be more than enough especially paired with a good board for SLI/CrossfireX
for gaming you will never really use the 4930K or the extra RAM bandwidth.

Though a rig like that would be awesome.
