I reformatted my HDD in "Windows Setup" (frustration at some technical issues installing a new OS on a new mobo) and have since tried recovering,
Is there anyway to get these files to open? Simple old pictures and a few documents. I've recovered the files using "iCare" but the pictures give me the message "Photo Viewer can't open this picture...". If I put .jpg in the name, says the file is damaged or broken (even if it was confirmed recoverable by Rucuva). The text document opens as a bunch of random symbols and characters.
