Hi,

I have just got a new TV that I want to use as a monitor, however, when I plug it in using the HDMI cable I see the boot screen but it turns to 'no signal' once windows is loaded. I have been fiddling for a while and realised that it must be a resolution problem, as I can boot it up successfully in safe mode usign the HDMI connection. When I check my screen resolution it is set at 800 x 600, with a warning that some items might not fit and applications might not open. However I cannot increase the resolution. In the display box it states the monitor as 'other'. In the device manager it is listed as a 'generic Non-PnP Monitor', and has a yellow warning icon next to it. I am completely stuck as to what to do to make it work properly.

I am tring to get the new TV, an LG M2450D to work as a second monitor alongside my samsung syncmaster. The LG works fine using a DVI to VGA cable. My graphics card is a GeForce GTX 660. All of the drivers for the gfx card are fully up to date.

My PC does not find a second monitor when I open the screen resolution screen and click 'Detect'. The Nvidia control panel also does not find it.

Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.
