on the asus maximus VI hero, i have the 212 evo and i need to have 16gb of ram.
i have 2x4gb crucial ballistix sport XT 1866mhz which takes 2 black ram slots.
can i add corsair vengeance low profile 1600mhz to have 16gb?

thx

btw does anyone know a good pc case with a window for less then 70$? thx again :)

Solution
it can ofcourse, but it can't run half the ram at 1866 and the other half at 1600 so it will run it all at the highest speed all modules can support - which is 1600mhz

Mixing RAM is never a great idea. But in the case that it does actually work, all of the RAM will be downclocked to the slowest speed of whichever RAM you have, so 1600 MHz, CL(X), where X is the Cas Latency of the Corsair RAM.

You also have to take into account what each RAM stick runs at. Your 1866 RAM could run at 1.65V, whereas the Corsair runs at 1.5V; not a good idea.
