Hey guys,
My brother was moving a couch and dropped it on his laptop. I am now charged with reviving it. Took it apart, and everything looks okay. However when booting cant seem to get past the initial boot screen, computer just restarts. So I figured the issue must be bad data or sectors in the hdd, as when the laptop was running I didnt hear the hdd skip. I tried putting his hdd into my Asus G75's secondary hard drive bay to see if my computer would recognize it so I could run diagnostic and try to recover the data. I simply plugged it into mine, and powered on. It doesnt seem to show up in windows explorer. Am I doing something wrong? Please advise as to what to do next.
