it only happens when i am downloading AC4 and it will happen about 5-10 minutes into the install process. is this just an overheating issue? seems unlikely. and i know for a fact all my drivers are up to date.

Solution
mmm that's typically a machine check exception error... likely caused by your ram or cpu or motherboard.

dl memcheck86, install it on a thumb drive as a bootable disk, tell your system to load from the thumb drive, and test your ram one stick at a time (pull out the other sticks of ram). 5 or 6 passes each. then test them together.

if you have no errors, we'll see if it's temperature related, and have you pop the side of the case off and stick a room fan in the opening. if you have no more errors you have a temp issue. If memtest faults then it's a memory issue. Otherwise if both of those turn up nothing, i would re-download the game and try again.

could my ram be getting to much volts possibly? Also it seems to be installing very stable through WiFi instead of an Ethernet cable.

mmm... maybe... remember you shouldn't have ram volted over 1.6V with an intel cpu. that CAN cause issues.
