Hi was wondering if someone could give me their opinion on a new alienware 17" gaming laptop. I know a few things about gaming pcs and such. So far I have built mine with a 4th Generation Intel Core™ i7-4700MQ processor 6MB Cache, up to 3.4GHz and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M with 4GB GDDR5, and 16gb memory. I know the graphics card is good, but was wondering if the processor is sufficient to run high end games like Arma 3 and maybe BF4. Right now my current laptop sucks it only has a AMD Quad Core A8-3500 at 1.5ghz and Amd Radeon HD 6740g2 1gb vram with a 8gb ddr3 memory. It does not run high end games very well. Arma 3 might run at 25-15 fps with a few units on screen, but the more I add fps drops a lot. Also in multiplayer I get 6-7 fps which is unplayable. I have overclocked my cpu but it doesn't really do too much. If someone could give me some advice before I purchase that would be great.

P.S. I know a desktop is better for gaming and is cheaper, but I need a laptop for traveling and stuff.

Yes A8 is sucks, especially those in laptops. Well, as u already have enough knowledge in hardware, then yes it is powerful enough for those games u mentioned afterall it is a i7 quadcore
