I want to know if the motherboard (abit ip35-pro silent) and memory (pny ddr2 pc2-6400) are compatible.

That MB has...
• 4x 240-pin DIMM slots support
maximum memory capacity up to 8GB.
• Supports Dual Channel DDR2 800/667
Un-buffered Non-ECC memory

So, that memory should work fine: http://www3.pny.com/4GB-Kit-2x2GB-PC2-6400-800-MHz-DDR2...

Do you still have the manual for that MB?

The manual will provide you with all the info you should need as to which slots (if any) need to be populated first, etc. Just be sure to always use matched pairs with dual channel memory for best results.

I'm not sure if this pertains to the BIOS in you MB, but here is some help:

Is this with just 2 sticks of the PNY memory in? Did this just start happening? Give me a little background. System specs.
