Core reads 40 degrees, cpu reads 75 degrees

On speedfan it tells me my cores run at about 40 degrees ( which i am not worried about at all) but my cpu says it ranges from 65-75 degrees. BUT the real question is when i run prime 95 for a test my cores go up to 65 (okay) but my cpu temp drops to 35 degrees. is the cpu reader just off? should i worry about anything at all?

Probably just a bugged temperature sensor, OR a bugged program. Try running a different temperature monitor, as they can have vastly different readings sometimes. (If it's saying that your chipset sensor is your core sensor or something like that.)

Ok, well thank you for your quick response. I got the same core temps with different programs. My bios says cpu runs at 40 degrees celsius
