Buying Motherboards for my PC

we are building a computer at school for an assignment. the computer is to be used for music production. we also have a budget of $1000.

we have chosen to go with Intel Core i5 3570K and need to find a suitable motherboard.
Any reccommendations????

Well, how much are you looking to spend on the motherboard? What form factor do you want - do you want a small computer? Do you want to overclock?

Not knowing anything else about the situation, I would recommend the AsRock z77 Extreme 4. It's a good budget motherboard that will let you overclock, but it's full sized ATX.

Generally speaking, we don't do your homework for you. Selecting a motherboard is a matter of compatibility and features. You'll want to look up what is the latest tech available, what motherboards are compatible with your selected CPU, and which motherboards offer both compatibility as well as the latest tech.

Thanks, we have to decided to go with the ASRock H77 Pro4-M, LGA s1155 mATX motherboard as it supports Intel Core i5 3570K and meets ourother specifications and is the cheapest...

any other recommendations would be appreciated..

In that case, you wasted a fair bit of money, because the "k" cpus are unlocked to allow overclocking and the h77 chipset doesn't let you.

You would be better off buying a z77 motherboard or a cheaper, locked CPU like the i5-3350p (which doesn't have integrated graphics) or the i5-3340.
