I recently put together a new computer and cant figure out how to clock my memory to 1600MHz. It is running at 800MHz at the moment and noticing performance issues when it comes to programs that are ram intensive. I can't figure out how to change the settings in the BIOS as many of them are grayed out. My BIOS is the newest version as well as the chip set drivers.

Setup:
AMD FX-8350
Gigabyte 990FXa-UD3 Rev 3.0
Kingston HyperX Beast 8 GB Kit (2x4 GB) 1600MHz DDR3
MSI R9-270X 2GB
CX750w Corsair Power Supply
Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120GB
WD 1TB HD

Solution
Don't worry... :) Your RAM is running at 1600Mhz.

1) You set the timings in the BIOS, so no matter what a Windows program reads it, it is running at the BIOS speed.
2) In CPU-Z, you have to times your RAM frequency by two to get the actual speed. It is taking into account the multiplier, so it only shows it as half.
