Hi, I want to know if it is possible to use to different RAM sizes on my motherboard The msi 760gm-p34(fx), I have to DIMM slots and also sometimes my computer can get slow while multitasking can it be the CPU, GPU, or the RAM????
Leave the DRAM voltage to default at first (prob 1.5) if any problems then raise to 1.55, for dual channel on your board you would need equal size sticks, many of the newer Intel mobos support flex mode which would allow for 2GB from each stick to run dual and the odd 2GB on the 4GB stick to run in single, but AMD is just getting around to implementing a like feature
mmmm... you don't want to mix and match ram. you're talking about an am3/am3+ motherboard, which means i assume you have a phenomII or PhII derivative cpu. Those cpus HATE mix and match ram... and you'll cause a lot of system instability doing that (they also hate single sticks of ram).
yes it is possible since DDR3 allow for asymmetrical dual channel. means u can hook up 2 different ram capacity, even different frequencies (will run on the lowest one installed). if ur system getting slow, u have to tell us ur complete rig and what u are doing with them. usually if it is caused by multitask then ur page file is not enough (not enough memory), but it all depends on ur system rig.

My Rig is AMD FX 4100 3.6 GHz (msi 760gm-p34(fx))
-MSI HD 6770
-4gb RAM
-1TB caviar Green WD
When you install the second stick, both will go to the mobos default of 1333
What about the voltage? (does that matter?), Also i only have 2 DIMM slots so if i install the stick of 2GB module on the second DIMM will it affect the 4GB on the first DIMM slot? Or would it go into dual channel??

So if I run 1 stick of 4GB and 1 stick of 2GB will i able to USE ALL the RAM?
