2 hard drives with an operating system in one computer. want to uninstall one operating system

So I bought a computer off my brother and it works fine, but there is a minor problem. I want to put my hard drive in without messing with anything. The problem being is that my hard drive has windows 8 installed and the new computer has windows 7. How would I go about uninstalling windows 7?

not entirely sure about win8 as there is something about setting to uefi in bios.before i would play with that i would try booting from the disk and seeing if it would install.cant hurt to try.

unless the computer you purchased from your brother is exactly the same as the one your hdd is out of its win8 you need to uninstall.you cannot take a hdd with an os installed from one computer and use it in another due to chipset and other driver issues.you will need to do a clean install of win8 if you want to use it on the new computer.

well the new computer has two drives in raid 0 i think, how would i go about installing windows 8 on those? would i just boot from the install disk and it does its own thing from there?
