My brother in law just bought a asus ac66u and was looking to replace is acer laptop wifi to utilize the AC wireless. Not sure on the model number right now but i know its a 17" laptop with a 1st gen i5, 4gb ram. Main issue is the newegg link for the Intel Wireless 7260 AC adapter mentions something about 4th gen intel cpus and would that be a compatibility thing or just advertising?

This is the adapter - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

As long as it uses a half-mini PCIE wifi adapter, you can use the 7260 AC. I have tried that in my Acer 4820TG Timeline X (Core i5 480m first gen) now installed in my Asus A55A.
