I have upgraded my 2GB DDR2 RAM to 3 GB RAM but still feeling my pc slow as it was before, it takes time when windows starts.
I did off many applications in msconfig window but still it takes time.

I starts my internet connection and PC at a time so is this the reason?
whatever, Please tell me how to check speed of my RAM

(I used this 2 GB RAM as it was not working in my friend's pc as his pc was not working, its display was not working with any other RAM as well, But I used this RAM and I can see it in my computer properties and cmos setup as well(2.98 GB RAM))

thanks

Upgrading from 2GB to 3GB of RAM does not increase the speed of the RAM. It allows more information to be stored in faster system memory instead of the HDD Page file. It will allow the computer to use many programs at the same time and do it faster. Additional memory will not effect the speed at which your computer boots up or the speed that programs open up at. However it will allow a program to open faster the second time you open it during the same computing session. The only ways you can make your computer boot faster are to replace the HDD with a faster HDD or an SSD and or replace your CPU motherboard and RAM.

If you want to check the speed your RAM is operating at download a program called CPUz it will tell you your memory frequency.

Any other information you can provide about your computer would also be helpful i.e. what is your Motherboard model? What CPU do you have? What is the hard drive model?

There is no amount of ram that you can buy that will make Windows start faster. It is loading from the hard drive into memory and than into the CPU; this process can't happen faster than the slowing link in the process.
