Hi I'd like to test my graphics card, It's a 5870 and I think it's causing my pc to crash. Whenever I play games it freezes, then goes black as if it had shut down but the pc is still on so I have to hard shut it down. I updated the drivers last week on tuesday and it worked fine until noon wednesday this week. I think it might be my graphics card or ram but how can I test my gpu? Also on CPUID and Control Panel it says I only have 4gb of ram but I have 6gb. Also I use CCcleaner once a day, is that bad? Thanks.

EDIT !!: If I need to upgrade ram or gpu what should I get? ( I have a ROG 3 EXTREME)

SPECS:
650W PSU
5870 GPU
I7 930 CPU
6GB GSKILL TRIDENTS
ASUS ROG 3 EXTREME
60GB SSD FOR W7 OS
1TB WD BLACK.

Solution
You GPU might be overheating, try to monitor the heat while gaming.
You could use speccy or something like that.

Been using CPUID and it never really goes over 60-65 celcius, is that bad?

Hi, I've recently had the same issue with my Nvidia GTX 480, the issue started a couple of days after I downloaded the latest Nvidia driver and has progressivly gotten worse to a point where it boots then black screens once I would normally log in to windows. Unsure whether this is an issue with the driver or a hardware issue with the card. Did you solve what was causing your issue in the end?

Using windows 8.1 if that helps :)
