Hello,

My monitor broke a few months ago, it would randomly shut off or would just show 1/10 of the screen. I sent it in for repairs, the repair guy gave me a monitor to use while he fixes it, so I connect the monitor he gave me, it works OK for a few days and starts acting up too, so I send it back telling him that he gave me a broken monitor and he gives me another one, so the third monitor works fine for a few days, then starts shutting off and on while it's plugged in, doesn't even need to be connected to the pc anymore, just off and on while it has power cable plugged in. Anyone know why this might be happening?

BTW, I think the GPU might have broken too(was the first thing to start acting up), it use to show -1 color(red I think) but then I put the cable in a different slot and it worked fine. I thought it might be the GPU problem, so I switched it, but hadn't tried starting the pc with a new monitor because I'm afraid it might break another one.

@jidevoy, do you know if the computer could be breaking the monitors? I thought it might be the power supply, so I want to connect the pc and monitor to a different outlet. I do not have an infinite amount of monitors so I wanna be sure another one is not going to break.

Here's what some guy wrote on another forum "Well, not destroy. Fry some circuitry, yes - VGA signals are 0.7V and shorting 12V to it is not a good idea " Does that mean that it could be graphics card destroying monitor through the VGA cable?
