Hi. My laptop restarted to update( not sure what update assuming windows 8.1). Since then it has not worked. It powers on with no fan, it shows the gateway sign and then goes to a white screen(with battery) black screen( battery removed and power cord plugged in) please help.

hmm doesnt sound like hardware issue i would reformat your harddrive and reinstall windows

I'm working on a friends gateway ne56r laptop that is experiencing the same issue. I've already tried replacing the CPU, I thought it was an on chip gpu problem but that didn't fix the problem.
