Hello,

I've got a problem for quite some time now. My computer shuts down randomly and the fans continue to spin indefinitely.

I get a black screen, the sounds continues for about 10 seconds then the computer shuts down and all the fans start blowing at max speed. I need to restart the pc to get it to work again.

The temp never goes above 75 degrees Celsius( I've checked this by playing a game with a temp checker)

I've tested the CPU with a stresstest for two days and the ramm as well for 1 day straight. Nothing came up and no shut downs. No errors, nothing.

I think the problems might be either the PSU or the GPU. But I'm not sure, I really don't know what to do at this point.

My setup is:
Radeon HD7870
i5 3570k
Gigabyte X77X UD3H
2 4gb ramm kingston hyper x
XFX 550W PSU

*updates:
-reïnstalled all drivers
-reïnstalled OS

Did you test your GPU temp also? If both CPU and GPU temps are ok and you have reinstalled all drivers and the OS I would start trying out different parts. Replace your GPU, then try a different PSU etc. If you don't have spare parts and no friends that can help out, you might just wanna take it to a tech.

Thanks for answering, the GPU temp is also in the save zone. I'm replacing the PSU tomorrow in the hope that that part is the one that's broken and not the GPU.
