Faulty G-SKILL RAM shifting frequency and freezing machine?

6,00 GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 535MHz (7-7-7-20), these are my Speccy info on the RAM just after another crash. It has also stated 4GB, but it is set (and as ive been told) to be 800mhz 9-9-9-27 in BIOS. I have had to change my RAM once before, but the PC has never behaved like this (shutting dow, not starting, BSOD). Can anyone tell me what is going on? Why is it ignoring BIOS settings (have been working for over a year)?

Well the sticks aren't set up right for one thing, What's the actual model number of the sticks, look in the SPD tab of CPU-Z next to part number

All right, will want to go into BIOS and if available enable XMP and select profile 1 - else set up manually with the DRAM freq to 1600, base timings to 9-9-9-24, CR to 2T, and DRAM voltage to 1.5

Yes, i have my profile 1 set to that in BIOS, but thats when the PC starts to crash and the BIOS settings are overidden - or at least show up differently in speccy and cpu-z. That is also the setting that i have been using for a while (without mentionable problems). I will however try that again with your tweaks and post in a few minutes if it still crashes on start or shortly after.

If nojoy, try raising the DRAM voltage to 1.56

I changed the values manually - CR to 2 and, V to 1.5 even if they either stands at the value or on Auto in profile 1 - and thankfully it seems like the PC now is stable. It shows up correctly in both speccy and cpu-z even after a restart and a game in the background as we speak. Im not 100% sure im out of the woods here, but ty for the help it looks like it actually made my rig stable again
