monitor shuts down after playing games

My games were crashing after i installed my new
gpu.bt than i formatted nd it didn't crash. bt after
1 hr of playing i quit the game nd my monitor
shuts down bt my cpu was working.
specs
i3-540
3.24 gb ram
ati 6670hd ddr3 2 gb
psu 450w
monitor lg 500e

Video card is bad or the power supply, those 2 are the most likely causes. If anything is overclocked, set it all back to defaults and try things again. If you have onboard video, remove the 6670 and run on that for a while. If that runs OK, test the card in another system. If that runs OK, try a different power supply in yours with that video card.
