give these a shot if you have not already tried them. if the new ones also fail, you might want to check your power management setting for your device and not allow it to go to sleep or a low power mode. Often there are bugs in the device driver where the card goes in to a low power mode,( less power to the antenna, reduced sending range)
but when it should go back into a high power mode it does not. (driver bug) This means you can see routers because the router broadcasts a full strength signal (up to 150 ft) but your wireless card is only sending out signals in with low power ( 7-10 feet). -for other brands of wireless devices there are several known bugs and driver updates for those issues.
- there is another cause of issues for USB wireless cards (bugs in drivers for usb 3.0 support chips)
-for windows 7 you had to explicitly turn on the low power link feature to hit this problem, Windows 8.x turned this feature on as the default setting for windows 8.x. Lots of people just blame windows 8 but it is a defect in the actual driver.
many drivers have been updated but now just ignore any request to go into low power mode. (it is basically disabled not really fixed. Low power mode is intended to help save battery life on mobile devices)
