Okay so I've read multiple threads saying I could do SLI with my gtx 760 4gb card with a 2gb they are identical in every way other than the vram. Now I still could get the sli option to become available In the nvidia control panel. I've tried everything from coolbits to different sli and sli patch and somtimes ill get the option but everytime I've tried to enable it the nvidia drivers permanently crash...or become corrupted so I have to reinstall I've also tried many combinations of hardware configs to try to get it working. I've tried 2 different sli bridges with no luck. NVIDIA customer support says its because of the vram size. Is there anyway of making this work like flashing card bios or editing registry making it believe the cards are identical I realize that's what coolbits attempts to do. But like I said it doesn't work. My system is ski certified for just 2way wich is all imtrying to do.

I'm having the exact same problem(same cards 2&4gb) I knew NVIDIA would say its because of the vram sizes so I went to my ASUS (my motherboard manufacturer) I'll post any solutions I find. Please post if you solve this problem, I'm sure it will help me too. Good luck.
