I have Charter Cable and I bought Basic Talk. My Charter box doesn't have an extra port for the Basic Talk. I read that I need another router, with extra ports. There will be no place to hook another router to my computer. Please help me to know what to do?

Do you only have a cable modem as part of your Charter Cable service, or did they provide you a router (either as a separate device or in a combo modem/router with 4 LAN ports)?

If they provided the router, then you should (hopefully) have at least 1 LAN port available, unless you have a lot of hardwired PCs in the house. If so, then you can probably just replace the router with an 8-port model.

If they didn't provide the router, just buy one from the local PC parts store & hook it up to the cable modem, then hook your PC & other devices to the router.
