I currently built my own system but the problem I'm running into is that the second Hard drive is not being recognize .I just installed Windows 8.1 in the system the ---motherboard is MSI Z87-G43 Gaming . The other SSD contain Ubuntu 12.02 from an old computer, when I try looking for the device in device manager I only see the main SSD but not the other.

Solution
AFAIK, without software allowing it to do so, Windows doesn't natively mount EXT filesystem drives. If you go to control panel->Administrative Tools->Disk Management, the drive should be listed there as a device, but you would not be able to access the drive within windows without a third part software installed
