So I currently have an AMD Phenom II (unlocked) X4 B50 Processor.

While running a game (Payday 2) the other day, the computer shut down after about an hour or so of gameplay.

I booted the game again, this time monitoring the cpu temperature, and realised that about 15 minutes in, the temperature had run up to about 88 degrees (C).

I later realised that when idle, it runs at about 60-65 degrees. (all temp monitoring programs read similarly)

So I did some research to see what might be going wrong. So far I have replaced all stock cooling components with better ones (heat sink and all 4 fans in it) and carefully applied some arctic silver compound to the cpu.

The strange thing is, the two exhaust fans seem to blow out cool air, which made me think maybe heat isn't being drawn from the cpu properly, but I'm not a professional, just an enthusiast.

Aside from that, no change :(

Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance :)
